Our Americas page covers South and Central America as well as the USA and Canada. As a result there is a huge range of issues facing travellers. In South and Central America we would highlight the dangers when travelling by bus, the depressing statistic is that approximately 700 die annually in Peru as a result of bus crashes. Dengue fever may also be a threat, in early 2010 there were serious outbreaks in Brazil, Bolivia and Guatemala.
Last week two friends and I were in BA, it has been amazing and if you are going to South America you must visit it. A few of the things you should go to are,
Boca Juniors match, Falklands war memorial, the Cemetaria de la Recoleta, tour the city on bikes, watch a high goal polo match, go to Siga La Vaca (an all you can eat steak house), The Art Factory Hostel in San Telmo is also very good.
For the football you can get cheaper tickets if you go to the stadium, however they are very hard to get hold of, if you get them through the hostel´s they are more expensive however they will arrange transport to and from the stadium, this is very good as you dont want to be wandering around La Boca at nighttime!! It has an atmosphere that no English match ever has.
