To cross Ecuador border by land need Criminal Record. Can get in advance of travels but costs £65 and 2 working weeks to recieve as well as a professional translation. I crossed illegally by going on bus to border and police let me carry on but never recieved stamp in or out and still technically in Peru. Wouldn't recommend as quite stressful and many I know turned away at border. Can easily fly in from Lima to Quito. Can blag way through though if don't want to deal with hassle of flying or getting criminal record.
