Guetemala | Difficulty of using Visa cards in many ATMs in Guatemala Sam Lebus | 03 Jan 2015
We leant this the hard way and had problems as a result.
Many of the ATM's in Guatemala won't accept Visa, which a Caxton card is. It wasn't just for us lots of people that we spoke with had trouble with Visa. The banks that didn't work were 5B (which annoyingly is the most popular), Banco Banorial and Banco Royal.
For us and other Visa users the best ATM's were either Banco Industrail or Banco Central America.
