I have had reported of 4 Gap year travellers being threatened by a gang in bar in Cartegna to hand over money. It seems some or all of them were escorted to an ATM. If this happens just comply. However this just reinforces our teaching just to take out cash when going out in bars and restaurants. Always ask the hostel owners as to where the high crime spots are.
