Bag snatching and theft are most prevelant in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) and Hanoi in Vietnam. Make sure you do not use a shoulder bag even when going out in the evening, using a backpack and wearing it correctyl will make you much less vulnerable. Also, while crossing roads through the chaotic traffic people have been known to have their sun glasses snatched off their heads by motorcyclists on passing.
