India | Metro - Arrival Delhi Airport to city centre Anonymous | 15 Feb 2013
The new metro is a very good way of getting into the city centre. Its safe, not crowded, efficient and clean. From the International airport it costs Rupees 120 ( £1.50/ $ 2.30) to New Delhi station - next to railway staion. Rather than fighting over bus or taxi fares its a good way for the first time traveller to Delhi to relax and get sorted. From the New Delhi metro station you can get a tuk tuk to the budget hotel area of Paharganj or go to Connaught Place for no more than Rupees 60 - bargain hard!
The metro is a good way of getting arond many parts of the city, its can be a scrum at times but its cheap, rups 20 for about 3 stops, is well policed and generally efficient but can be a bit of a scrum! Charlie McGrath
