In many Eastern European countries you must buy a vignette, essentially a road tax. This is important for those on the Mongol Rally as failure to produce a vignette when asked by the police can result in a very large fine! Some vignettes can be bought online, otherwise they can be bought at most major petrol stations. The best website is www.tolls.eu
