A great way to see the beautiful Burmese countryside is to do a trek from Kalaw to Inle Lake. We were recommended to use a company called "ever smile" where you can do a 3 or 2 day trek for a really good price with food and accommodation included. If given the choice, definitely opt to sleep in the monastery one night.
