When travellig on trams and buses in Krakow and other cities do ensure you validate your ticket as soon as you get on the bus/tram. Generally you purchase a ticket from a machine at the bus stop but as soon as you get on to the vehichle you need to punch in in the validation machine. If you do not you can get fined up to €35 by the ticket inspectors.
